We’re excited to have Prescott Perez-Fox of The Busy Creator, here on Officehours, taking part in our Learn to Podcast series. Here’s a little about him, and how he can help you, during his office hours.
Prescott’s podcasting story:
The Busy Creator Podcast is a discussion program where creative professionals from across the spectrum share tools, techniques, and habits they use in their practice. Listeners are introduced to strategies and workflows to be their most creative, productive selves.
I started TBC in Jan. 2013, but it was actually my second podcast. In 2006 I created a horrible mess of a show called Twentyhood. It was a failure by every measurement, but I learned a lot in the effort to record, edit, and publish a podcast.
In the 2.5 years since creating TBC, I’ve experienced massive ups and downs in my work and personal life. Speaking to other creative pros—some of whom live across oceans—has been invaluable in building a body of knowledge on the subject of work, productivity, creativity, personal habits, business, and success in general. We’re all on this journey together; I’m not a guru and don’t try to be.
Prescott can help you with questions like:
- Should I do a seasonal show? What should publishing schedule be?
- How should I set up a podcast workflow?
- What’re some of the basics for editing?
- What’s the biggest obstacle rookie podcasters face?
- Will I make money soon? Ever?
